state in both area and population, spanning 268,820 square miles (696,200 km2), and with a growing population of 24.3 million residents. Texas is a state located in the South Central United States, nicknamed the Lone Star State. If you care about having a good Indian dining experience, I highly suggest you try one of the many other Indian eateries around Sugar Land and the Houston metro area.American, Bakery, Barbecue, Eclectic, Hamburgers, International, Pan Asian, Tex-MexĪmerican, Cajun, Hamburgers, Salads, Sandwiches, SeafoodĪmerican, Hamburgers, Italian, Salads, Sandwiches, Seafood, Steaks I felt that many of the patrons were treated with much more care. His general expression was one of, once again, 'Disinterest.' \t\n Over all, this is a place I would NEVER EVER visit again, or recommend to anyone that I know. I began to tell him that the service was below average, and we were not satisfied at all. Unacceptable!\t\n When the meal was done, and the bill was paid, I asked our "waiter" to speak to the manager, who replied that he was in fact the man in charge. Any time I requested something from our waiter, he would tell me that he would be with me in a minute, while he would go and serve a beer to another table or just chat another couple up. Naan was like chewy cardboard, and DEFINITELY do not order the Garlic Naan, which is a naan sprinkled with garlic powder, unlike other resaturants which glazed with garlic butter. \t\n Main course was sub-par, if you frequent other Indian restaurants, you would know what I mean. Even then, the empty plates from the appetizers remained on the table, all the way until our main course was brought out. BUT, after we finished, it took another 15 mins (no exaggeration) to get someone to take our order for our main course. However, I dont expect that kind of service to continue throughout the meal.\t\n After a short while, the appetizers came out(Tandoori Platter), and were actually decent. Not only was the waiter disinterested and RUDE, he was also very hurried to get our order taken. \t\n After about 10 minutes of staring at the menu, and countless attempts to flag down a waiter, our order for appetizers was taken. I strongly feel like this is why we had such a bad experience. \t\n **Just as side a note, we are of Indian origin, and it was apparent that at the time, we were in fact the only Indians there. Definitely not something you want to see. Due to the size of our party (6) we were seated towards the back of the restaurant (closest to the kitchen entrance and cash register) The table was placed in plain view of the kitchen entrance, where you could see the waiters filling up jugs of water from a hand washing sink. BIG MISTAKE! \t\n We arrived on Friday Nov. WORST INDIAN DINING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! \t\n You have a better shot at receiving good service from a fast food joint, than here.\t\n\t\n My cousins and I had been craving some restaurant indian food, so we decided to give Shiva a try. The next time I come through Houston, I will definitely stop by (or atleast grab a takeout)!! \t\n\t\nOverall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. When you try it, you have to savor it in your mouth and not rush to eat it. My favorite was the chicken tikka masala. The food was well cooked, and had a different but satisfying taste. I was a bit skeptical on the food as I poured (since it didn't look traditional - which is surprising for me to say since I'm Caucasian), but I went ahead and tried. We started with the buffet and piled it on. We were seated at a booth and told the buffet was open.

We walked in and the place was a bit empty. \t\n\t\nAs we reached the restaurant, I was ready to give my friend either a thumbs up or a good lashing for this "experiment" he was putting me through. Being from Dallas and have eaten my fair share of Indian food, I agreed. He wanted to take me to a "new" Indian restaurant that opened in the local Town Center. One of my friends, whom I worked with, wanted to take me out and introduce me to his town. I spent a couple of hours in a meeting and we adjourned for lunch. Last week, I drove into Houston for business from Corpus Christi.
